311 Commodities Feed Division

Logistics
311 Commodities primarily delivers feed across Central and Southern Missouri (mainly south of I-70), as well as Eastern Oklahoma, Eastern Kansas, Northern Arkansas, Western Illinois, Southern Iowa, Western
Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, and Western Kentucky. As our fleet continues to grow, we are steadily expanding into new regions to better serve our customers.

In our first year of business, we faced challenges in securing reliable trucking options. To ensure timely deliveries, we partnered with our sister company, JDP Trucking, and invested in our own semi and belt
trailer. Since then, JDP Trucking has grown to operate over 10 trailers, including Walking Floors, Belt Trailers, End Dumps, and a few tankers. We do not use hopper trailers, as belts and end dumps provide superior unloading efficiency without requiring a swing auger. Owning our own trucks allows us to maintain control over delivery schedules and capitalize on special purchasing opportunities to offer more competitive
prices.

To provide the best possible pricing, we analyze whether it is more cost-effective to use our own trucks or hire third-party carriers, depending on the ingredient’s point of origin. With feed ingredients sourced from 11 different states, logistics can be complex, but our approach ensures optimal pricing for our customers. In fact, one of our
longest hauls covers 750 miles, yet we can still deliver feed at a lower cost than transporting the same ingredient just 150 miles from another manufacturer.

We are always looking for experienced owner-operators to haul our freight, pull our trailers, or drivers to drive our company trucks. If you’re interested in working with us, don’t hesitate to reach out. We understand that profitability in trucking depends on minimizing empty miles, which is why we prioritize hauling both directions. Let’s connect and explore how we can work together!
